Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya attended the Commissioning Ceremony of 105 new Mobile Migration Point Vehicles. With the new vehicles put into service, the number of mobile migration point vehicles across Türkiye has reached 375.
The Commissioning Ceremony of 105 New Mobile Migration Vehicles held at the Presidency of Migration Management was attended by Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya as well as Deputy Ministers Münir Karaloğlu, Bülent Turan and Mehmet Aktaş, General Director of Security Mahmut Demirtaş, Gendarmerie General Commander General Ali Çardakcı, Coast Guard Commander Vice Admiral Ahmet Kendir, Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Ali Hamza Pehlivan, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök, Deputy Presidents of Migration Management Niyazi Ulugölge and Ramazan Seçilmiş, General Directors of Migration Management, 81 Provincial Directors of Migration Management, ministry bureaucrats, unit chiefs and personnel of the Presidency of Migration Management.
In his speech at the ceremony, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that Mobile Migration Point Vehicles have been implemented with an innovative approach, that they are the first of their kind in the world and that they are of great importance in the combat against irregular migration.
Türkiye Has Become a Country that Manages Migration in an Institutional Sense
Stating that Türkiye has become a country that manages migration in an institutional sense, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya said: "We manage migration not with one-day approaches, but with long-term plans, strategic approaches, and by utilizing the latest technology. The Mobile Migration Point Vehicles we have put into service today are also the product of this strategic vision. I would like to emphasize once again that Mobile Migration Point Vehicles is a unique implementation that demonstrates how Türkiye combats irregular migration both effectively and conscientiously. This implementation, which we first started in Istanbul on 19 July 2023, was continuing with 270 vehicles in 81 provinces. With the 105 vehicles to be put into service, this number will reach 375."
213,848 irregular migrants were detected and deportation transactions were initiated immediately during the controls carried out in Mobile Migration Point Vehicles
Drawing attention to the contribution of Mobile Migration Point vehicles to the combat against irregular migration, Minister Yerlikaya said: "To date, 4 million 572 thousand 712 people have been checked in our Mobile Migration Point Vehicles. It was determined that 213 thousand 848 of those checked were irregular migrants and deportation transactions were initiated immediately. I would like to draw your attention: In the first 3 months of this implementation, 49 thousand 999 people were checked in our vehicles; 37 thousand 289 of these people were irregular migrants. In other words, the rate of irregular migrants detected was 74.5%. In the last month, we checked 319 thousand 479 people in our mobile migration point vehicles. The number of irregular migrants detected is 5 thousand 667! Yes, only 5 thousand 667. The rate: 1.8%. This table clearly shows that we are on the right track and how the measures taken have yielded effective results in the field."

Thanks to our Mobile Migration Point Vehicles, Our Combat Against Irregular Migration Has Become Much More Effective in the Field
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that thanks to the Mobile Migration Point vehicles; the combat against irregular migration has become much more visible and effective in the field; "In coordination with our law enforcement units; we carry out active inspections in city centres, entry-exit points, terminals, train stations and airports, beaches, and at every point deemed necessary."
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya explained how the implementation is carried out with the following sentences:
Our security forces carry out identity checks of foreigners when deemed necessary. Those who cannot present their ID cards are invited to the Mobile Migration Point vehicles. We have a migration expert and an interpreter working in these vehicles. In the vehicle, with our domestic and national software, fingerprint and biometric verification, the necessary controls are provided from the GÖÇ-NET database. In a short period of approximately 1 minute, we can determine whether the person we are checking is an irregular migrant or not. If the foreigner is an irregular migrant; the necessary transactions for deportation are initiated immediately. If the foreigner we are checking is a “regular migrant” who does not have his/her identity card or passport with him/her at that moment, in other words if he/she is an investor, an international student, a tourist or a foreigner whose entry and stay is in accordance with the legal process, we thank him/her. That guest of ours can continue his/her daily life in our country without any interruption. Thus, our Mobile Migration Point Vehicles not only combat irregular migration, but also play a role in supporting and facilitating regular migration.
Our Goal in the Combat Against Irregular Migration: Not Allowing the Formation of a "Power of Attraction" Towards Our Country
Stating that illegal migration mobility is under control thanks to Mobile Migration Point Vehicles, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya said "We are rapidly carrying out the deportation process of those who do not have the right to legal stay. We are increasing deterrence against migrant smuggling. Our goal in the combat against irregular migration: Not allowing the formation of a "Power of Attraction" towards our country. As stated by our esteemed President of the Republic: "Our combat against irregular migration will continue uncompromisingly; we will never step back from our decisive policies aimed at eliminating informality."
"We Are Using Domestic and National Göç-Net software"
In his speech, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök stated that the domestic and national Göç-Net software created by the expert personnel of the Presidency of Migration Management, is used in the Mobile Migration Point Vehicles,
and said "I wholeheartedly believe that the new vehicles joining our fleet will make a great contribution to our works and transactions."
Stating that they carry out the combat against irregular migration in accordance with the law, human rights and our civilization values, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök said:
"Our Presidency of Migration Management was established 12 years ago with the Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection adopted by our esteemed Grand National Assembly. As you know, it is a very young institution. Despite being young, we have a state tradition of hundreds of years behind the institution. We have civilization values that are the legacy of our ancestors who embraced oppressed people of different nations, regardless of language, religion and ethnic origin. As the Presidency, we continue to work with a holistic perspective in all areas related to migration management. We draw strength from law, human rights, and our civilization values. On the one hand, we encourage regular migration; on the other hand, we combat irregular migration without compromising public order and security."
Emphasizing the importance of mobile migration vehicles in the combat against irregular migration, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök said the following: "Our mobile migration point vehicles, which we will put into service here today, are of great importance for our combat against irregular migration and migrant smugglers, which we are carrying out under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the great support of Your Excellency. Thanks to our mobile migration point vehicles, our personnel, together with our law enforcement officers, can easily carry out the necessary inspections without any violation of rights."
