International Students Gathered at the Iftar Dinner of the Presidency of Migration Management

International students studying in Ankara gathered at the iftar program organized by the Presidency of Migration Management.
The iftar program was attended by the President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök, as well as Deputy Presidents Niyazi Ulugölge and Ramazan Seçilmiş along with General Director of Harmonization and Communication Yaşar Aksanyar, General Director of Foreigners Fatih Ayna, General Director of International Protection Bayram Yalınsu, General Director of Border Management Ozan Gazel, Communication Consultant Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgü Yolcu, Head of Department of Foreign Relations Serra Albayrakoğlu, Ankara Provincial Director of Migration Management Gökhan Karaman, unit chiefs and international students studying at universities in Ankara.
"Your Achievements Make Us Happy As Much As Your Families."
Speaking at the iftar program, the President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök started his speech by greeting the students and said, “As the Presidency of Migration Management, we are very happy to be with you and to host you in our Presidency during this holy month of Ramadan, which you spend kilometers away from your home, family and country. Our Presidency carries out the works and transactions regarding the entry and stay of all foreigners in Türkiye, including you, our esteemed students. Our Presidency provides services on the basis of law, human rights and our civilization values by saying “human first”. We hope that you, our esteemed valuable international students, will have a good time in our country, like all other foreigners in our country, establish good friendships and send good news from Türkiye to your families and countries.”
Stating that as the Presidency of Migration Management, we attach great importance to the phenomenon of internationalization in higher education, President Mr. Hüseyin Kök said, “We are taking all necessary steps to contribute to increasing the number of qualified international students like you. Your achievements make us happy as much as your families. In this context, we, as the Presidency of Migration Management, are carrying out activities to facilitate your works and transactions in Türkiye.”
International Students Can Carry Out All Transactions Regarding Residence Permits at Their Own Universities
Reminding the protocol signed between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Ministry of Interior on 15 November 2023, the President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök said, “With this protocol, it was ensured that our international students could carry out all transactions regarding their residence permit processes within the campuses of their universities. In our new system, international students submit the documents required for the student residence permit to the international student offices of their universities instead of the provincial directorates of migration management. Universities prepare the files and send them to the provincial directorates of migration management.”
President Mr. Hüseyin Kök stated that they have prepared a guide explaining the steps that international students should follow in 5 languages, namely Turkish, English, German, Russian and Arabic, and stated that this guide can be accessed from the website of the Presidency.
International Students Can Directly Connect to Foreign Representative by Calling YİMER 157 and Pressing 2
The President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök said that international students can call YİMER 157 when they need information support. President Mr. Kök stated that international students are directly connected to the foreign representative when they press 2 after calling YİMER 157. President Mr. Hüseyin Kök said: “YİMER, the Foreigners Communication Center, provides services in a total of 5 languages: Turkish, English, Arabic, Russian and Farsi. YİMER 157, which provides service as an information line between 08:00-18:00 on weekdays, answers the questions of foreigners in Türkiye within the scope of the legislation of the Presidency of Migration Management. It also provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as an emergency hotline. When you call YİMER 157, you can quickly access information on issues such as school enrolment processes, student residence permit application processes and results, students' graduation processes and obligations to notify”. President Mr. Hüseyin Kök stated that YİMER can also be reached through the mobile phone application GÖÇBİL.
