President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök Started His Duty

With the Decree No. 2025/48 of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan published in the Official Gazette dated 04 February 2025, the Handover Ceremony was held after the appointment of the President of Migration Management Mr. Atilla Toros as the Governor of Mersin, and the Deputy President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök as the President of Migration Management. Mr. Atilla Toros, who was appointed as the Governor of Mersin, handed over the position of President of Migration Management to Mr. Hüseyin Kök.
Mr. Hüseyin Kök, who started his duty as the President of Migration Management, thanked our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya in his message. President Mr. Hüseyin Kök said, “I would like to express my gratitude to our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, who have entrusted me with serving our beloved nation and state in this important duty”. President of Migration Management Mr. Hüseyin Kök, thanked Governor Mr. Atilla Toros, from whom he took over the position, for the services he has provided so far and wished him success in his new duty as the Governor of Mersin. In his message, President Mr. Hüseyin Kök said, “Under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the support of our Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, we will continue to work with all our strength together with the expert personnel of our Presidency of Migration Management in order to carry our country's migration policy activities forward day by day”.
FULL TEXT OF THE INAUGURATION MESSAGE OF PRESIDENT OF MIGRATION MANAGEMENT MR. HÜSEYİN KÖK
As of today, I have started my duty as the President of Migration Management, to which I was appointed with the Decree No. 2025/48 of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, published in the Official Gazette dated 04 February 2025.
I would like to express my gratitude to our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and our Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, who have entrusted me with serving our beloved nation and state in this important duty.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Atilla Toros, who served as the Founding General Director of our Presidency and from whom I have taken over the flag, for the services he has provided so far and wish him success in his new duty as the Governor of Mersin.
Our Presidency of Migration Management, established on 11 April 2013, undertakes important duties such as the entry of foreigners into Türkiye, their stay in Türkiye, and their exit from Türkiye, together with integrated border management, as well as international and temporary protection transactions to be provided to foreigners requesting protection from Türkiye; the execution of deportation procedures of irregular migrants from Türkiye, and coordinating and programming the activities of public institutions and organizations within the scope of the Presidency's duties, assisting in their project design, evaluating and approving project proposals, monitoring the works and projects carried out, and supporting the implementation of these works and projects in accordance with international standards.
In the face of the great migration movement experienced all over the world, Türkiye, under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan both takes a stance in accordance with humanitarian values and implements practices that never compromise on public order and security.
Our Presidency of Migration Management, as the coordinating institution for Türkiye’s migration management, carries out activities in all areas related to migration management, including regular and irregular migration and border management, in accordance with our Constitution, the Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection and relevant legislation.
Our Presidency, which manages migration with people-oriented national policies, works by analyzing the migration agenda of the whole world, the problems experienced, scientific publications and reports.
Under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the support of our Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, we will continue to work with all our strength together with the expert personnel of our Presidency of Migration Management in order to carry our country's migration policy activities forward day by day.
We will continue to work on the basis of law, human rights and our national interests, drawing strength from our civilization values, without compromising public order, public safety and public health; and by taking into account the long-term risk and opportunity dimensions of migration.
With our historical experience, humanitarian approach and rational perspective, I would like to state that we will carry out our activities in the field of migration management with the same determination as in the past.
May God grant us the opportunity to do good deeds for Our People, Our Country and Our State together with all my colleagues, Inshallah.
