Consultation Meeting of Provincial Directors of Migration Management Held

The “Consultation Meeting of Provincial Directors of Migration Management” was held with the presence of Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir and under the chairmanship of President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök, with the aim of strengthening coordination between central and provincial units.
At the opening of the meeting — attended by the Deputy Presidents, General Directors, Advisers, and Department Heads, along with Provincial Directors of Migration Management — prayers were offered for Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in the tragic incidents at schools in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş. Condolences were expressed to their grieving families, and “get well” wishes were conveyed to our beloved nation, particularly the education community. During the meeting, where it was emphasized that Türkiye’s migration management policies are carried out with a humanitarian, conscientious, and transparent approach in line with civilizational values, comprehensive consultations were held between the central and provincial organizations.
We Are Moving Towards the Future with Competent and Dynamic Teams
Drawing attention to the importance of the duties undertaken by the Presidency of Migration Management, Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir stated that the institution plays a key and strategic role in Türkiye’s social, economic, and cultural future. Noting that the Presidency of Migration Management is highly dynamic both structurally and in terms of human resources, Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir pointed out that the personnel serving in the field consist of meritorious migration experts who are career officials. He stated that this situation provides a significant advantage in the visionary implementation of Türkiye’s migration policies. Underlining that the Presidency of Migration Management possesses an up-to-date legislative framework, Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir remarked that the institution's organizational structure and legislation are areas that are always highlighted with pride in international platforms.
A Human-Oriented and Transparent Management Approach
Stating that regular migration management is one of the fundamental elements of migration governance, Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir emphasized that a human-oriented approach lies at the heart of all activities carried out in the field. Stating that the outstanding efforts shown by the institution's personnel in the field have turned into a significant asset for our state and nation, Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir noted that the institution's duty is to implement the legislation meticulously without compromising on civilizational values, compassion, conscience, or public order and security. Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Mehmet Cangir added that by maintaining inclusive, open, and transparent communication with all stakeholders, Türkiye’s equitable stance on this matter will continue to be demonstrated in the best possible manner.
Year of Education Officially Declared
President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök emphasized that since its establishment, the Presidency has carried out its activities with an approach that prioritizes human dignity, public interest, and security, while taking transparency and accountability as its basis. Stating that the fundamental principle in migration management is to manage migration with a rational and holistic perspective, drawing strength from historical experience and civilizational values without compromising on public order and security, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök expressed that they have implemented practices that serve as a model for the world under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the support of our Minister of Interior Mr. Mustafa Çiftçi. Pointing out that the Presidency of Migration Management has become an exemplary institution on international platforms thanks to the dedication and expertise shown with a spirit of institutional solidarity, President Hüseyin Kök announced that they have declared the current year as the “Year of Education” to make this successful momentum sustainable and to ensure that personnel can stay informed about up-to-date international developments. President Kök added that during this process, the knowledge of all personnel regarding migration policies and strategies will be refreshed.
Incentivizing a Qualified Workforce and Innovative Practices
Stating that they pursue incentive policies that facilitate the arrival of qualified migrants needed by the country in fields such as tourism, health, education, trade, and investment, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök noted that bureaucratic processes have been simplified through the amendment made to the Implementation Regulation of the International Labour Law, and that the digital nomad visa application has been implemented for the qualified workforce working remotely. President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök also stated that a multiple-entry visa implementation has been developed to support the arrival of qualified human resources and capital; that the residence permit applications of international university students have been facilitated thanks to the protocol signed with the Council of Higher Education; and that residence permits are granted to those who have graduated upon their request.
Uninterrupted Service with Indigenous and National Systems
Touching upon the digitalization process and facilitating steps regarding services for foreigners, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök stated that multi-lingual and uninterrupted consultancy services are provided through the Foreigners Communication Center (YİMER), residence permit applications can now also be made via notary offices, and notifications regarding residence permits have started to be issued electronically. Reporting that the resettlement processes of Meskhetian Turks in Erzincan Üzümlü have been completed in line with Presidential decisions, and that procedures regarding the resettlement of families in Bitlis Ahlat are ongoing, President Kök emphasized that thanks to indigenous and national implementations, foreigners can carry out all their procedures and transactions rapidly and effectively without the need to visit the institution.
