Communication Strategy Document Preliminary Workshop Was Held in Mersin

The Communication Strategy Document Preliminary Workshop organized by the Presidency of Migration Management was held with the participation of Founding President of Migration Management and Mersin Governor Atilla Toros, and President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök.
The Communication Strategy Document Preliminary Preparation Workshop, organized by the Office of the Press and Public Relations Counsellor of the Presidency of Migration Management, was held in Mersin on 17-18 September 2025. The workshop began with a moment of silence and the Turkish national anthem, followed by the screening of the promotional film regarding the Presidency of Migration Management. At the opening, speeches were delivered by Founding President of Migration Management and Mersin Governor Atilla Toros, President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök, Communications Consultant of Presidency of Migration Management Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgü Yolcu. Representatives of non-governmental organizations, academics, media representatives, and personnel of the Presidency of Migration Management attended the program.
Governor Atilla Toros Emphasized the Importance of Communication in Migration Management
In his opening speech at the workshop, Founding President of Migration Management and Mersin Governor Atilla Toros emphasized that communication efforts are of great importance in addition to developing the right policies in migration management. Governor Atilla Toros said that a strong communication strategy is needed to accurately inform the public and combat disinformation.
Governor Atilla Toros stated that the Presidency of Migration Management attaches great importance to communication efforts, and that these efforts become much more effective when combined with the scientific data of academics, the media's ability to reach the public, and the field experience of civil society.
“Türkiye Has Made Significant Efforts in the Field of Migration”
President of Migration Management Hüseyin Kök began his speech by thanking the academics, non-governmental organizations, and media representatives who participated in the workshop, as well as those who contributed to its organization. President Hüseyin Kök stated that Türkiye, which has witnessed numerous migration events in the past and successfully managed them, continues to make significant efforts in the field of migration today. President Hüseyin Kök stated that the Presidency of Migration Management, under the leadership of our President of the Republic Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the support of our Minister of Interior Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, implements policies and strategies related to migration, carries out works and transactions in the field of migration, and ensures the coordination of activities in this area. President Hüseyin Kök said, “As the Presidency of Migration Management, we work 24/7 in all areas related to migration management, including Regular migration management, International protection, Temporary protection, Voluntary return, Integrated border management, Combating irregular migration, and Combating human trafficking, in accordance with the rule of law, human rights, and our civilization values, without ever compromising our public order and security”.

Communications Consultant of Presidency of Migration Management Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgü Yolcu stated that the workshop will contribute to the more effective communication of our country's migration policy, in addition to the works carried out by the Presidency of Migration Management of the Ministry of Interior in accordance with law, human rights, and civilization values.
