The second stage/second meeting of Harmonization Meetings organized by the General Directorate of Migration Management Harmonization and Communication Department with the cooperation of German International Cooperation Agency (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) was held in Nevşehir on Monday 5 August 2019.
Nevşehir Governor İlhami AKTAŞ,Provincial Police Chief Mehmet ARTUNAY, our Acting President of Harmonization and Communication Department Ali Rıza BEŞKAT, Nevşehir Provincial Migration Management Acting Director Akif DOKSAR and GIZ Project Coordinator Esin BOZKURT, along with representatives of provincial protocol, representatives from non-governmental organizations, local and foreign people also joined “Harmonization Meetings-Nevşehir” event.
Speaking in the program, Acting President of Harmonization and Communication Department Ali Rıza BEŞKAT said, “The harmonization process is two-way. Both the state organization will do best to ensure your access to rights and services and you will be sensitive to fulfill some of your responsibilities. Learning Turkish is one of them. Knowing the laws and legislations in Turkey are also among the responsibilities again.”
Addressing the foreign participants, Nevşehir Provincial Migration Management Acting Director Akif DOKSAR emphasized the importance of language learning to provide harmonization and said, “The most important purpose of such programs is to explain the rules which our Syrian guests have to obey and the rights which they have during their stay in our country. We are also in cooperation and communication with our institutions providing services on this subject.
GIZ Project Coordinator Esin BOZKURT, in her speech, expressed their satisfaction with the harmonization meetings and the results they have achieved in cooperation with our General Directorate.
After the opening speeches, our General Directorate Migration Expert Salih Aykut ÖZEN gave information about the activities carried out in the field of social harmonization. In addition, informative presentations were made within the scope of the rights and obligations of foreigners and services provided by public institutions and organizations. After the presentations, Q&A session was held.
The 2nd stage of the Harmonization Meetings will continue in 5 different provinces where the necessary information is provided to both the host community and the foreigners living in different status in our country about their access to rights and services.
